About Us

The Technical Services Laboratory (TSL) is a division of MGA Research Corporation (MGA), which has specialized in offering testing services and products to a global market for over 30 years.  Our purpose is to make all of MGA resources and expertise available for assisting customers with design qualification/verification, product development, first article, in-process, and final inspection test services across an industrial market (e.g. commercial, military, aerospace, aviation, medical, automotive, etc.).

Our mission is to employ the decades of experience and expertise our associates have accrued, as well as the facilities and resources of MGA, to cost-effectively and efficiently provide desired "answers" to your testing needs, when you require them. 

The TSL is located in Akron, NY (just east of Buffalo, NY). We take great pride in our ability to develop mechanical, electrical, and control components, integrating them to develop custom test equipment.  Our professional staff of engineers and technicians work with customers to determine not only the cause of a problem with a particular product, but also to help develop possible solutions.  Services available include but are not limited to testing, analysis, consultation, equipment and fixture design, and fabrication. We also has facilities in Troy, MI, Burlington, WI, and Greenville, SC. 

We began testing batteries in the early 1980's. In support of expanding battery testing requirements, we have developed equipment to perform the tests specified in the UN requirements, as well as unique and specialized protocols.  To this day, we continue to provide testing services for a wide range of manufacturers, from small medical cells to large battery packs used for industrial or military applications.
