Salt Fog / Corrosion
Performance
Corrosion testing is
conducted to specific standard requirements and /or to
simulate quality issues in the field for analysis and
corrective action. Examples of "real-world" corrosion
conditions that can be simulated in the lab:
-
Sea/Marine Environments - Salt fog, spray and/or
immersion; acidified synthetic sea water (fog) testing
-
Salt/Road Conditions - Full vehicle testing with salt
spray, slurry mixture, stone pecking and full vehicle
temperature/humidity/salt fog testing
-
Chemical Corrosion - Acetic acid, cyclic acidified
salt, sulfur dioxide salt fog/spray; dilute
electrolyte cyclic fog/dry test
