Altitude testing, ensures that a component can withstand low pressures without any change in pertinent physical or chemical properties of materials, erratic operation, or rupture of sealed containers, which could subsequently affect its service function. The pressure chambers used to conduct these tests have airtight access ports, which permit electrical operations and functional testing of equipment during low pressure exposure. Altitude can be combined with thermal testing as required.
